Mr. Mark Winzler is a retired Connecticut Superintendent of Schools who, since retirement, has served numerous times as Interim Superintendent in Connecticut school districts. Mr. Winzler began his educational career at Enfield High School where he taught primarily German and advised many student activities. After 11 years of teaching, he became the Assistant Principal of the Brown Middle School in Madison and then Assistant Principal of E.O. Smith High School in Storrs. After serving as an Assistant Principal, he was named the Principal of E.O. Smith for 11 years before moving into central office administration. He served as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Personnel in Branford and then the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in Windsor. Mr. Winzler then became Superintendent of Schools in Bolton. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in German from Upsala College and both a Master of Education and a Sixth Year Professional Certificate in Educational Administration from the University of Hartford. In addition to his current consulting activities with NESDEC, Mr. Winzler also works as an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University and an administrative coach in various Connecticut districts.
