Victor Mercurio has been an educator for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in leading award winning, student-focused school systems and practitioner-scholar graduate students to high levels of success and achievement. Before working with NESDEC, Dr. Mercurio served as the superintendent of East Greenwich Public Schools, in East Greenwich, RI. He spent the majority of his K-12 education career at the Warwick, RI Public Schools, where he worked as an ELA Teacher, high school assistant principal, high school principal, and finally Director of Secondary Education. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, and also served a number of years there as an adjunct professor. He holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Boston College, an M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Providence College, and a B.A. in English from Boston College.
